jQuery – THE JavaScript library to use?

jQuery is picking up steam as THE javascript library to useIs it me, or does it seem like jQuery has been picking up a lot of steam over the past 6 months or so?

It used to be that when I thought Javascript/AJAX library, I thought Prototype. Anymore, however, I think jQuery.

It’s the one I use. I like it because it is so simple because I don’t do that complex of projects. It just let’s me concentrate on coding and isn’t too bloated.

I don’t really know if it is “in”, but it is “in” for me.

Maybe have the UI extension helped it gain traction.

Yeah, those UI extensions look really nice. Maybe I’ll have to work those in somehow.

Yup, not only is jQuery the Javascript library to use, but it’s also got a couple of amazing books out there for it.

However the UI extensions ARE NOT being supported yet. For instance, they don’t work in Explorer as of this moment. Just a quick heads up, since I was also interested in the UI extensions, but was disappointed by their browser support.

Interesting – I didn’t know the UI stuff wasn’t supported in IE. Thanks for the heads up! Maybe I’ll just wait a while until the support is there.
